Ups and Downs of Technology

With any advance in technology, there come positive and negative consequences.  With the Bronze Age, advances in farming became balanced with advanced weaponry; in the Industrial Era, the advances in mass production became balanced with the possibility of an industrialized war; and in the Atomic Age, the potential for renewable enegy became balanced with the ability to obliterate life from the planet several times over. Even if we discover a cure for cancer, I wouldn’t be surprised if someone finds a way to weaponize it.
